NGC2118 - The Witchhead Nebula

Date:             March 10, 2007

Location:       Seven Sisters Observatory - Manchester MI   

Equipment:   Canon 10D modified, ZS66SD w/ field flattener  

Conditions:    Cold and transparent very good night 

Film:              DSLR @ ISO 800     

Exposure:      18 X 300 seconds plus 2 X 300 seconds dark frames

Comments:    This shot needs to be re-processed but I am surprised at how much of this very faint object I was able to pull out of the skyglow.  The Witches Head is a difficult object at the best of times and conditions much less from Michigan through a 2.4" telescope!
