Mark sent thin sketch of STAR 4 - The Flying Minnow in Auriga.  His sketch and impressions are very informative.

I managed to get this shot of STAR 4.  This is easy to see as a oval brightness to the naked eye near M38.  In binoculars or a small scope the curvy double line of bright stars stands out from the background.

This is a 10 minute exposure taken through my 4" f6 refractor.  I used Kodak Supra 400 film and took the shot on the April 2000 Boon trip.  To do this I am aided by having a Taurus Tracker III, an ST4 autoguider and a wonderful Losmandy G11 mount.
