Milky Way in Monoceros

 

Date:            February 1999

Location:      Tucson Arizona - Empire Ranch Observing Site.       

Equipment:  Canon F-1, 50mm f21.4 lens set to f2.8, Equatorial Camera Platform manually guided using an Orion Short Tube 80.

Conditions:   Outstanding, Dark and Clear

Film:             Kodak Ektapress PJ400

Exposure:     10 minutes

Comments:   The Rosette Nebula is in the lower center with the Christmas Tree Cluster above it.  The top of the frame gets into Gemini.  The bright star on the right is Betelgeuse.
